After recovering from jet lag and spending a great weekend in Hanoi, Ke and I continued our tour through Vietnam. Our next two stops were Mai Chau and Pu Luong. We researched probably a dozen tours but was able to plan this trip on our own with the help of great friends.
Mai Chau and Pu Luong aren’t the easiest places to get to so we hired a private driver for 3-4 days to get us around. I’d definitely look into a private driver if you’d like to explore more remote places of Vietnam but I unfortunately can’t recommend ours haha, he was not too happy about how remote some of the places were.
In Mai Chau, we stayed at this homestay*. This place was great. It’s next to a few small villages you can explore and shop around and not too far from the main road and small town. Our hosts cooked amazing food and were so sweet and helpful. We borrowed bikes and road all around the different villages. I think one day in Mai Chau is more than enough.
